Pharmaceutical development of polyherbal Kushthaghna Mahakashaya lotion with FTIR and HPTLC characterization

Introduction: Kushthaghna Mahakashaya is a traditional herbal group of ten medicaments (dashemani) explained in classical texts and administered the form kashaya (decoction) indicated for management Kushtha (skin ailments). In present scenario, based on disadvantages like lesser shelf-life, cumbersome, difficult to prepare administer daily basis. Furthermore, if it by an external route then, may avoid first-pass metabolism thereby enhancing drug’s bioavailability causing its rapid action. So, study attempt analyze modified dosage Kwatha Lotion. Materials methods: Churna, Ghana, Lotion were all prepared. was made mixing aqueous oil phases together at same temperature. It stabilized with Carbopol neutralized Triethanolamine improve sample's stability. Different trials conducted check excipient ratio formulation, samples evaluated according standards. Organoleptic parameters, physico-chemical analysis, FTIR, HPTLC, microbiological specification tests performed Ghana Results: All observations carried out samples, results recorded. Conclusion: can be prepared from Kwatha. The lotion will light brown colour, characteristic smell semi-liquid consistency good spreadibility.
